These are my dogs Tempo and Otto on a skijor outing Nov. 28, 2006 to Martis Peak. Martis Peak is about 6 miles from Brockway Summit off Highway 267 near Kings Beach. There was about 16 inches of new snow at the top. The lookout structure between the trees in the upper left is about 8,700 foot elevation. The round trip on skis took about an hour and 10 minutes. Without good dogs, then it may take someone else longer. I used touring skis with blue wax with a little purple wax mixed in. There was a little sunlight peeking through, but mostly there was light snow and overcast skies.
